The Primary Program is an English (90%) – Spanish (10%) bilingual Montessori program. The Primary Program is designed for children ages 3 to 6 years and consists of an integrated and secular curriculum in a prepared environment based on Dr. Maria Montessori’s proven philosophy and principles. The child’s learning is individualized, and it allows the child to work at his or her own pace in a mixed-age classroom environment. The children are guided by certified professionals in a self-directed learning environment that promotes adaptation, independence, responsibility, development of the will and a logical mind, respect for others, and a love of learning.

The Primary Curriculum in the Children’s house is comprised of five distinct areas of concentration:

  1. Practical Life includes simple and ordinary activities that we perform daily to embellish, maintain, and restore proper conditions in our environment as well as to establish and maintain social relations with our families and other people. We offer real objects, natural, fragile, beautiful, and attractive materials to help the children with adaptation, development of the will, independence, coordination of movement, and development of a logical mind.

  2. The sensorial area helps the children develop and refine their senses, help them follow natural development, and prepares them to adapt to the world. The sensorial materials comprise a series of objects which are grouped according to some physical quality that they have, such as color, shape, size, sound, texture, weight, temperature, and so forth.

  3. Mathematics is the part of the human mind that is exact, orderly, and precise. In a Montessori-prepared environment, it is made accessible to the child but never imposed. This area makes use of manipulative materials to enable children to manipulate the materials concretely and then reach concepts of understanding and abstraction.

  4. Language includes spoken language, enrichment of vocabulary, written language, reading, word study, function, or words, and reading analysis. The purpose of language in the Montessori environment is the process of organizing and building one's personality which includes self-expression, enrichment of the language, and expression through writing and reading.

  5. Extension activities expose children to geography, history, music, movement, science, biology, art, and music.

The Primary Program is a Mandarin (80%) – English (10%) – Spanish (10%) Language Immersion Program. Our goal is to help children become independent and self-motivated learners. In this program, we provide our students in preschool and kindergarten with a solid foundation in all academic areas and opportunities for learning and speaking Mandarin as a second language. The child’s learning is individualized, and it allows the child to work at his or her own pace in a mixed-age classroom environment.

The teacher-student ratio is 1:10. The small-sized and high-quality Mandarin Immersion Preschool programs provide environments and experiences that encourage active, playful exploration and experimentation for better development. We customize educational services based on every child’s unique needs and strengths with love and care. All our Montessori teachers hold AMI or AMS certificates that qualified in Montessori education, with early childhood education teaching backgrounds.
